Eda Frandsen is a beautiful traditional gaff cutter, built at the Grena shipyard, Denmark in 1938. Having worked for much of her life as a fishing trawler in the harsh climates of the North Sea, her hull was lovingly restored on the remote peninsula of Knoydart, Scotland in the 1990,s.

Here she was converted to a strong and capable sailing ship, perfectly suited to a life of adventure under sail. With over twenty years of service under her belt, her current custodians, Stella and Mungo would love to share with you all that she has to offer.

We offer a relaxing and enjoyable sailing experience, along with the chance to witness some of the most beautiful and remote locations in the British Isles. Scattered across our local waters in the West Coast of Scotland are a vast array of outlying Islands, each of which has its own distinctive character and history. The area is also home to a myriad of plants, birds and wildlife, for which our vessel is the perfect viewing location.

Eda Frandsen has been lovingly maintained throughout her working life, her Oak frames and curving Larch planks glide easily over the water, providing a wonderful platform for learning new skills and sharpening old ones.

With the chance to become fully involved in all aspects of life onboard, our 3 experienced crew members will happily show you the ropes and share their knowledge of seafaring tradition with you.
